Two brothers die, two injured in accident
New Delhi, June 11 According to the police, the two brothers, Nikhil Bansal (39) and Vineet Bansal (35), died while the other two men who were also in the car and are related to the deceased were injured. The two injured men were identified as Nitin (32) and Pradeep. They were taken to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and Agarsen Hospital, from where they were discharged after the treatment. An eyewitness called the police about 12.30 am. He said a black Audi car crashed into the electric pole. The police found four men in an injured condition out of which the two brothers had sustained maximum injuries, including head injuries. The police said they might have been driving the car at a high speed, as a result of which the driver lost balance of the car. The car first hit the divider followed by a sign board and then crashed into the electric pole. They were returning from a party. "The wives of Nikhil, Pradeep and Nitin are sisters and the three with Nikhil's brother, Pradeep, were going to their father-in-law's house in Punjabi Bagh after attending the party. Nitin was driving the car at a high speed. We are yet to ascertain if Nitin was drunk or not," said a senior police officer, adding that they are waiting for the post-mortem reports and medical reports of the four. A case under Sections 279, 337, 338 and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC has been filed. |
Man shot dead for resisting robbery
New Delhi, June 11 One of the robbers fired a country-made pistol at the shop owner, who sustained a bullet injury in his abdomen and was declared dead at a hospital, police said today. The victim has been identified as Kanhaiya Lal. The police apprehended Karan Valecha, one of the alleged robbers, at IGI Airport when he was trying to flee to Bangkok. The police have launched a search to apprehend the remaining two robbers, who are allegedly Valecha's friends. DCP (North) Sindhu Pillai said that for the past four years Valecha has been staying in Bangkok, where he is working at a jewellery designing shop. "Valecha is a Class XII drop out. He had also worked at Lal's shop in Dariba Kalan for nine months and knew him and his two sons well. He had arrived at India from Bangkok with an intention to earn easy money and had planned the robbery with his two friends," said Pillai. Yesterday about 9.15 pm, three armed robbers barged into Lal's shop. "The robbers tried to loot the cash and jewellery, but were faced with resistance by the shop owners and his sons. In the scuffle one of them fired rounds. A bullet hit Lal in his abdomen. The robbers then escaped," said Pillai. The police said that the robbers had surveyed the site of the incident on June 9 before committing the robbery. They had allegedly stayed at a hotel in Paharganj for a night on June 9. "With the help of CCTV camera footage and a bag that the robbers had left behind at Lal's shop, we established their identity. The bag contained the robber's documents," explained Pillai. |

maintenance of their equipment and network so that the people get uninterrupted power
