165 recruits participated in passing-out parade

Hoshiarpur, December 23
In an impressive passing-out parade, KPS Rana, DIG (Headquaters), Ferozepur, took march past salute from 165 Border Security Force (BSF) jawans of Batch No 211 at the BSF subsidiary training centre, Kharkan, 12 Kms from here yesterday.

He gave medals to the cadets, who had achieved distinctions in various fields, during their nine months of training period. Recruits Anurag Saini and Pardeep Kumar were adjudged first and second, respectively, for their performance in the overall training. Recruit Sachin Kumar was adjudged best in shooting.

Addressing cadets, KPS Meena congratulated all of them for completing their basic nine months training course. He advised them to perform their duties with dedication and honestly and protect the borders of the country. He lauded the role of STC BSF Kharkarn for providing a high class training to recruits.

One killed in road accident
: A migratory labourer of Bihar was killed on the spot when a speeding vehicle hit him near Sanghowal Village yesterday night. He has been identified as Raj Kumar. The police has registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC against the driver who fled after hitting the deceased. The body of the deceased was sent to the civil hospital for the post-mortem examination.
