New Delhi, November 9
The investigation in the case of Satyam Yadav, a 26-year-old Congress councillor who allegedly committed suicide yesterday morning after killing her one and a half year old daughter, has disappointed the family members of the deceased, who have claimed that her in-laws are trying to suppress the matter by using their political influence.

“It is a clear case of dowry death as they had been harassing her for dowry, but the police is trying to show it as a suicide. The police has not recovered any suicide note from the spot,” said Prashant Yadav, brother of Satyam Yadav.

Though Delhi police officials today said that they have arrested Pawan Yadav, husband of Satyam, in connection with the case, no action has been taken against the father mother, and two sisters-in-law of the victim even as their names appear in the FIR. Pawan Yadav (28), an MCD schoolteacher, was arrested under section 304b (causing dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code. However, the police officials said that the investigation is on and nothing can be said till they get the postmortem report.
