Minister denies having misbehaved with jawan
Dehradun, October 1 While clearing his position, Dinesh Aggarwal: " The jawan who had probably been fired from his job came to me to be reinstated. When he did not get a satisfactory answer from me, he concocted the story that I did not care for the hill people as they are not my vote bank. He also circulated that I said the state agitators grew like mushrooms and no one paid heed to them." He said it was all false. "No politician will ever criticise any particular caste or community. He will be a fool to do so. The disgruntled jawan was spreading rumours," he added. The PRD jawan, Vir Singh, is also a member of the state agitators' organisation. He allegedly instigated the others against the minister. Singh was also embroiled in a controversy in the past for locking up a senior officer in a room. |
Solution to problems lies in numerology, says astrologer
Haridwar, October 1 Renowned astrologer Sapna Shree, who is equally verse in Reiki, tarot card reading and is a motivational-spiritual healer, too, echoed this in a tête-à-tête with The Tribune. Sapna was in Haridwar to speak as chief speaker in the All India Astrology Convention where more than 50 astrologers from across the country
participated. Being felicitated by former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri recently for her contribution to astrology, Sapna Shree said that such awards only motivated her to work harder. “Astrology is an ancient art having deep connection with human life, universe, hand lines and numbers. But it seems now people are taking it with a more scientific outlook as on a daily basis, I get numerous calls and queries from people hailing from different states of the country,” said Sapna Shree, who is also a known face as an astrologer on television channels. Citing remedial and measures that are suggested by astrological predictions, Sapna Shree said that astrology had a solution to a wide array of
problems.
Listing her long list of clients that include top politicians, filmstars, corporate bigwigs, Sapna said that astrology was not an easy art but the one that needed hard work, patience, concentration, purity and clarity of thoughts. One could see divine forms which a normal person misses. “An astrologer knows via astrology and science what will happen in the future, and that is the reason why more and more people hailing from scientific background are coming to us and using astrological suggestions in their lives,” said Sapna. Sapna also has a word of praise for young upcoming astrologers, saying fundamentally, the calculations required to do most of the basic astrological predictions are of simple arithmetic nature and most people in India were very good at simple arithmetic, regardless of their level of education. This was generally enough to learn some of the basic calculations for casting a horoscope. In fact most students of astrology here in India could do these calculations mentally. A little bit of knowledge of basic astronomy was also helpful in practising astrology, and more so, if one wanted to pursue advanced research in the subject, she added. |

Ex-MLA takes out procession in Haridwar
Haridwar, October 1
More than 400 people participated in a procession that started from the Bhagat Singh roundabout and concluded at the Gobind Vallabh Pant park after passing through city inner roads. Addressing the gathering, Ambrish Kumar said state governments in Uttarakhand, either of the BJP or the Congress, had failed to fulfil the aspirations of the people. He cited unemployment, migration and anomalies in issuance of caste certificate, permanent residence certificate, lack of proper vision for the new hilly state and corruption as major issues involving the people of the state. Calling on for a strong regional outfit that could solve the problems of the people of this new state, Kumar said even after 12 years of the separate statehood status, Uttarakhand seems to be nowhere as far as development in the state was concerned. "Now you (people) have to think who we are electing as public representatives. We have to change the mindset of people by not getting into false traps of the Congress and the BJP and other political parties and outfits like the Rashtriya Krantikari Manch will be playing a pivotal role in the coming days", said Ambrish. Executive member Murli Manohar criticised the Uttarakhand government for indulging in petty politics, first in the Sitarganj Assembly byelection and now in the Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha
bypoll. — TNS |
