SAD ex-servicemen wing to launch stir: The ex-servicemen wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal will launch an agitation against the UPA government to get “one rank, one pension” implemented in letter and spirit. State president of the wing Gurjinder Singh Sidhu said the ex-servicemen felt cheated as they had not been granted the pension under the policy, as the UPA government had only implemented other recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission. Power engineers to revive agitation: The Council of Junior Engineers of the PSEB has decided to resurrect its state-wide agitation in support of their demands by holding circle-level rallies on October 10 and a one-day strike on October 18. “We have been left with no alternative but to revive our agitation as the power management has been indifferent towards the demands of junior engineers,” said Davinder Singh, general secretary.
