Amritsar, July 9
Depressed with her husband who allegedly raped her seven-year-old adopted daughter, a woman today stabbed her daughter to death and tried to commit suicide by cutting her veins.

While the girl died on the spot, the woman was rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in a serious condition.

The shocking incident took place about 9.30 pm.

Doctors attending on her said she is serious due to heavy blood loss.

Sakshi, the victim, said she took the extreme step as she felt disgusted after her relatives criticised her for lodging a complaint against her husband.

It is pertinent to mention here that her husband Ramesh Kumar has been arrested following the complaint.

Sakshi got married to Ramesh in 1993, but they did not have any child even after 12 years of marriage. The couple then adopted a baby girl of her brother-in-law (elder brother of Ramesh).

A day before yesterday, she caught Ramesh while sexually abusing her daughter following she lodged a case with the police.
