Lid off land scam in Noida
Noida, March 7 The district administration has since cancelled all the fictitious registries after the exposure of the scam worth Rs 100 crore in village Shahpur Goverdhanpur along the Taj expressway, comprising 100 lakh sq mts. The district administration has now registered a case against Moti Goel and eight others in Sector-39 police station, Noida. Incidentally not a single accused is the native of
the village. According to Dy District Magistrate Sadar, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Shahpur Goverdhanpur village is one of the constituent villages of Noida. Most of the village land has been acquired by the Noida authority. But Moti Goel had got this land worth crores transferred to his syndicate’s name with the
connivance of some officials. After investigations, it has been discovered that Khasra No. 194/1 and Khasra No. 11 are included in the cattle-grazing and agricultural land respectively, according to revenue records. However, on an order from the SDO in 1982 and 1984, an area of 30 bigha was transferred to the name of Charan Singh, s/o Hari Singh, Jai Prakash, s/o Som Nath, Sanjeev Kumar, s/o Ramadhar, Mahaveer, s/o Om Prakssh, Ramchandran, s/o Ram Kaduley and Deepak, s/o Suresh Chandra in the revenue records. Interestingly, the SDM’s order is not available in records neither there is any correspondence covering this transfer of land
on record. All these people, the probe has established, had got their names entered fraudulently by tampering with the records so that they could claim compensation for the land. The court of Dy DM Sadar had, therefore, cancelled all the registries vide case No. 11/2003 and 14/2004 under Sections 33/39 considering them as fictitious and illegal. A case against Moti Goel and eight others has been filed under Sections 120b, 420, 466, 468, 469,
472 and 13 (2) and 13 (i)d of anti-corruption law in Sector-39 police station, Noida. |

New Delhi, March 7 The affidavit, filed in response to the PIL filed by the Social Jurist, highlighting the absence of basic amenities in government and MCD schools in Delhi, claims there are 4254 vacancies of primary teachers in MCD schools and lack of drinking water facilities in 30 schools. Further, it states that about 18 to 20 per cent of schools have low water pressure, 60 schools are without electricity connections, nine schools functions from tents and 16 schools are without toilet blocks. Responding to the query about the absence of any school in Mukandpur, the MCD claims that a school building will be built up in 18 months and the establishment of residential schools is under examination. Installation of water coolers in schools is being examined and a high-level committee is being constituted under the Chairmanship of Additional Commissioner (Health and Education) to oversee the building designs. Plea to L-G on building plans
The Leader of Opposition in the Standing Committee, MCD, Mr Vijender Gupta, has asked the Lt-Governor, Mr B.L. Joshi, to direct the Delhi Government to withdraw the proposal that aims to end the requirement for sanction for construction of government buildings like schools, police stations, courts, prisons etc. He said that if this proposal is passed by the government, it will be a contravention of the provisions of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, enacted by the Central Government. He said that the provisions of Section 332 of the DMC Act 1957 provides that no person shall erect or execute any of the works specified in Section 334 except with the previous sanction of the municipal commissioner. Besides, the provisions of Section 330-A of the DMC Act 1957 inter-alia provide that the commissioner will exercise his powers and discharge his function under this chapter under the general superintendence, direction and control of the Union Government. He alleged that abolishing the necessity of sanction of building plan is politically motivated and aimed at tarnishing the image of the MCD.
