Justice Halil Ramdey, a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan got
emotional when he visited his ancestral village here. As he and his
wife Quarat-ul-Aim stepped out of their vehicle, a large number of
villagers greeted them with Mohammed Rafi’s number, “Baharon phul
barsaao, mera mahboob aaya hai.” He was escorted by the SSP, Mr M.F.

Capt ‘reneged on’ Amritsar declaration

Mr Gursewak Singh Jawahar Ke, general secretary, Youth Akali Dal (Amritsar), today alleged that Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had cheated the Sikhs by back-tracking from the stand taken by him when he signed the Amritsar declaration, demanding a separate Sikh state at Akal Takht in 1994.
