Amid continued tension, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today met Pakistan Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and firmly told him that Islamabad must respect India’s sentiments, points of view and sensitivities if it was serious about a meaningful dialogue between the two countries.

Immediate FIR a must for cognisable offences, rules SC
New Delhi, November 12
In a landmark judgment, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court today ruled that immediate registration of a first information report (FIR) by the police “is mandatory” in cases involving cognisable offences. “No preliminary enquiry (PE) is permissible” in such cases.

The Haryana Advocate General's (AG) office might have to reconsider its decision to reject the recommendation of an appeal against the acquittal of four accused in the Dabra gang rape case even as the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) served a notice to the Haryana Chief Secretary asking him to probe the circumstances leading to the acquittal.

Trainee IAS officer’s death in Moga: Colleague booked

One week after a 26-year old trainee IAS officer Nishant Kumar, hailing from Bihar’s Begu Sarai district, was killed in a road mishap in Moga district, the local police has booked one of his colleagues Ajit Roy on the charges of rash driving. He was also injured in the accident.
