New Delhi, November 14 A 14-year-old boy in Nand Nagri, who was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital last night with more than 80 per cent burns, succumbed to his injuries. “He was most critical among all our 90-odd patients who reported to us during the Divali night and all of them were given adequate treatment and discharged,” said Dr Rajpal, the medical superintendent of GTB Hospital. Ten patients came on the previous day of Divali, 150 yesterday and 40 today. Twelve patients came with swellings on face and suspected eye injuries. The patients kept coming till early morning.” As many as 68 people reported to the eye casualty of the Rajendra Prasad Ophthalmic Sciences Centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences where nine patients are still admitted with eye globe ruptures. “We had 40 patients yesterday who came to us with cracker injuries and 28 more came today.
