BJP MLAs walk out of House
New Delhi, September 4 The Speaker said that the issue could not be discussed in the House as it was already in the court. As soon as the proceedings started, opposition BJP MLAs raised the issue of a local court order pertaining to the alleged graft in CWG projects and demanded that Dikshit should step down as she has lost the moral authority to continue in office. The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, V. K. Malhotra, said the court order shows that there is ground for investigations into alleged corruption in CWG preparations. When Congress MLAs protested against the allegation and BJP members shouted slogans against the Congress and its leaders, Speaker Yoganand Shastri adjourned the House for 30 minutes. When the House reassembled, the situation was the same and the Speaker had to adjourn it again for another 20 minutes. The ruling Congress on its part rejected the demand for Dikshit's resignation. When the House assembled for the third time, the BJP demanded a special discussion on the issue. It was rejected by the Speaker, following which the opposition MLAs staged a walkout. The Chief Minister said, "Let BJP say whatever they want to say. They are making wild allegations. They are not allowing Parliament to function. Now, they do not want the Assembly to discuss important issues," Dikshit remarked outside the House. Earlier, the House condoled the death of Bollywood star Rajesh Khanna and ex-metropolitan member Chaudhary Mukhtiar Singh. |

Media giving one side of story: Paras’ dad-in-law
New Delhi, September 4 A case has been registered against Mittal under Section 302 and was summoned for questioning. "Our life has been ruined. I would not say anything. Media is presenting only one side of the story," said Mittal, speaking to mediapersons outside the police station. The boy's family has alleged that it is a case of honour killing. The couple had got married at a private ceremony and the girl's family had been against the marriage. The police also said that it is looking for eyewitness and it is too early to come to a conclusion. The police said that the person, who had called up Bhasin's mother to inform her about the body, was a passerby, who had called up after seeing Bhasin's ID card lying near the track. The police, on the basis of the forensic examination of the body, said that the body was not sliced or cut but was crushed by a heavy object. His body was found in a mutilated condition on the track. The police also suspects that the body could have been compressed and disintegrated by the impact of the train. Three days after his body was found, the head was found inside the body cavity probably due to the impact. Bhasin's family had alleged in the FIR that he was under constant threat from his in-laws. His wife was kept under house arrest by her family after it came to know of their marriage. Bhasin, who last time met his in-laws on August 29, was constantly being threatened by them, alleged his family members. |
