After struggling for more than five days, Naresh Kumari breathed her last while she was going to her parents’ house on Wednesday, police sources say. She was married to Paramjit Singh in 2004.

Father of the deceased Niranjan Singh alleged that Paramjit and his father Milkha Singh allegedly used to torture and beat his daughter for money. On October 13, Paramjit mercilessly beat Naresh and threw her out from the house along with their six-year-old son.

On October 16, Paramjit reached Niranjan’s house to apologise to her wife. He offered some juice to her. After consuming it, Naresh started vomiting and later fell unconscious.
