5 gang members, two drug peddlers arrested

The police has arrested seven persons and seized a canter, two motorcycles, 570 gm of intoxicant powder and 100 gm of heroin from them.
The police busted an inter-district gang involved in purchasing stolen vehicles at cheaper rates and selling them on higher prices after preparing their fake documents.
The police said it arrested five members of the gang, identified as Kuldip Singh, alias Soni, resident of Fattu Dhinga village, Pritam Singh, alias Titu, and Balwinder Singh, alias Billa, both residents of Buta village, Captain Singh, alias Keepa, resident of Lakhankalan village, and Gagandeep Singh, alias Gagan, resident of Dumalia. A canter with fake number plate was recovered from them. A case under Sections 379, 411, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 482 of the IPC was registered against them. All accused were produced before the Judicial Magistrate today, who remanded them in police custody for three days.

In the second incident, the police arrested a drug peddler, Vaneet Kumar, resident of the local Guru Arjunpura, and recovered 270 gm of intoxicant powder from him. The police also impounded his motorcycle. In the third incident, drug peddler Kuldip Singh of Moro village was nabbed by the police near here. The police recovered 300 gm of intoxicant powder, 100 gm of heroin and a stolen motorcycle from him.
