Milk plant workers rue police inaction
Amritsar, September 7 Association general secretary Manjit Singh said a few days ago, a female worker was suspended by the general manager of the plant for her refusal to attend duty at the cash counter. He said though the union had taken up the matter with the management, which had assured the member to revoke suspension, the relatives of the worker created undue nuisance at the plant and damaged its property. He said though the workers nabbed four of the assailants, the police did not take strict action against the culprits. He said the union would intensify its protest if the police failed to take action against the “culprits”. Though the police has registered an FIR against the accused, the association is not satisfied with the action taken. |
