Team conducts surprise checks in schools
Nawanshahr, September 6
The inspection team, constituted by Director General School Education KS Pannu, conducted surprise checks in a number of schools in the district today and found various infrastructural and other deficiencies. Surinder Agnihotri, district science supervisor, head of the inspection team, said at Government High School, Bheen, roofs of three classrooms were leaking, three computers were not working and the record of eco-club grants was not maintained for long time at Government Middle School, Mehndipur.

Three booked for murder
Hoshiarpur, September 6
The mahilpur police had booked Parminder Singh, Pritpal Singh and Harpreet Singh under sections 302, 201 and 34 of the IPC for murdering Jagtar Singh (40), son of Malkiat Singh of Damdama PS Raia, district Sirsa.

Nawanshahr, September 6
The inspection team, constituted by Director General School Education KS Pannu, conducted surprise checks in a number of schools in the district today and found various infrastructural and other deficiencies.

Surinder Agnihotri, district science supervisor, head of the inspection team, said at Government High School, Bheen, roofs of three classrooms were leaking, three computers were not working and the record of eco-club grants was not maintained for long time at Government Middle School, Mehndipur.

He said at Government High school, Alachaur, students were sitting on carpets due to shortage of desks. Internet facility was out of order for the past three months and proper record of grants released by the department was not maintained at Government Middle School, Mangupur, and the boundary wall at Government Middle School was found in a dilapidated condition.

District education officer Amrik Singh has asked the heads of the respective schools to immediately set the things right.

Three booked for murder

Hoshiarpur, September 6

Balwinder Singh, brother of the deceased, said his brother worked as a labourer with the accused. — OC
