Abducted by friend, girl freed
New Delhi, August 16 DCP Sindhu Pillai said the accused, Abhishek Deep, hails from Chattisgarh's . "Abhishek said that he was in dire need of money. He planned to kidnap his friend for Rs 1.5 crore" Pillai added. Ashwani Kumar informed the police that he received the ransom call made by an unknown person from his daughter's mobile phone. Kumar is a resident of Jalwayu Vihar in Noida Sector 25. Pillai said that Kumar received the ransom call at 10.20 pm on Wednesday. The police learnt that Deep had telephoned her when she was outside her college and asked her to meet him at the Shastri Nagar Metro station. "When they reached Connaught Place, he took her mobile phone and made a call to her father. He then switched off her phone and threatened her to obey his instructions, otherwise her father would be killed," Pillai said. Deep took the victim to the Hotel Ashoka at Paharganj, according to the police. He locked her inside the room. The police somehow traced the victim and rescued her from the hotel. The cops also apprehended Deep from there.
