NRI family donates land to village school

Jalandhar, June 14
An NRI family hailing from Hadiabad, near Phagwara, has come to the rescue of a government primary school in Kirpalpur village as the family-run Freedom Fighter Deva Singh Dhoot Welfare Trust has extended 1 kanal land and a grant of Rs 51,000 to the school.

The trust is run by freedom fighter Deva Singh Dhoot’s US-based son and chairman of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) Dalwinder Singh Dhoot and association president Satnam Singh Chahal.

Dalwinder was honoured with a “siropa” by the village panchayat for his contribution towards development of the school.
