Jalandhar, October 6
A day after exchange of arguments over taking credit for development works, the two warring BJP leaders, Mayor Rakesh Rathour and former Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia, were once again seen together at a Dasehra function on Ladowali Road here this evening.

Contrary to their attitude towards eachother yesterday, both showed respect towards each other perhaps after orders to show a collective face of the party at public platforms. They took each other’s name with much reverence and stood next to each other on the stage.

As both the leaders went about in six to seven venues of the Dasehra mela falling in the Jalandhar (Central) constituency this evening, it perhaps was a sheer coincidence that they came face to face at one of the venues. While Kalia already represents the area, Mayor has instead been eyeing a party ticket for the coming Assembly polls.

The twosome is also learnt to have had a spat on the road in front of Kalia’s house before starting for the function. Rathour had surprised Kalia by reaching his house yesterday to take him along for the function of the inauguration of a community hall at Shakti Nagar. Rathour is said to have even offered him a seat in his own car, but Kalia chose to go in his own vehicle. As this happened, the public noticed both of them exchanging arguments.

Mayor, when asked about sudden twist in the attitude, said, “I have never been discourteous to Kalia. I really do not know why he felt offended. Anyways, we cannot part ways and would often be seen together at public functions.”

Kalia could not be contacted for comments.
