Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in a fire that broke out in a shoe factory in Udyog Nagar area of the Capital today. When the fire broke out, seven workers were on duty. But they escaped unhurt. The workers saw the smoke coming from one of the corners of the factory.

Dacoity bid foiled by villagers

An attempt to commit dacoity by half a dozen armed gangsters was thwarted by the alert villagers of Bega in the wee hours on Saturday. One of the villagers sustained bullet injuries during the confrontation.

Kishan Pahelwan gangster held after shootout
New Delhi, January 25
The North-West district today claimed to have arrested one Jaipal Singh, alias Body, (26), resident of Mussorie and an active member of the Kishan Pahelwan gang, after a shootout near the Budh Vihar in Rohini. The Delhi Police Commissioner had also announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for Singh’s arrest.
