3 patients die due to power crisis
Kanpur, September 15
Junior doctors at the government Halet hospital in the city have gone on a strike in protest against the acute power crisis which has caused the death of three patients in the past 72 hours, senior doctors of the hospital said today. The strike began yesterday, as the power crisis, combined with generator failure, has badly affected the functioning of the hospital for the past three days, leading to the death of two patients in the surgical ward and another in the ICU, even as others have started leaving the hospital and moving to other private nursing homes, the doctors said on condition of anonymity.

4 die in crash
Moscow, September 15
A helicopter has crashed in a small city near Moscow, killing four persons, emergency officials said. The Ka-26 helicopter crashed in downtown Noginsk, 68 km east of Moscow, said Ms Marina Ryklina, a spokeswoman for the Emergency Situations Ministry. She said the helicopter belonged to a local aviation sports club.

Youth castrated
Ajmer, September 15
A 28-year-old man was castrated for allegedly having illicit relations with a woman at Sohlia village, about 80 km from here, the police said today. According to the police, victim Ram Chandra was taken yesterday by Sita Ram to his cottage where a group of six people castrated him and left him bleeding outside the cottage.

Mandi house fire
New Delhi, September 15
A fire broke out in the Mandi House office of Prasar Bharati in the Capital tonight. Fire Brigade officials said the fire, which broke out in the technical area of the basement of the multi-storey building, was controlled after firefighting operations that lasted for about two hours. The cause of the fire was not immediately
