Our Correspondent

Doraha, September 15
Knee joint replacement surgery, in which the damaged joint is replaced with artificial joint, was performed successfully at Sidhu Hospital, here recently.

Dr R.S. Sidhu, chief orthopaedic surgeon said: “This surgery needs meticulous pre-operative planning, surgical skill and post-operative rehabilitation. The results of surgery depends a lot on post-operative physiotherapy. Most of the knee joint problems are related to age factor but some of the joints are damaged by disease. A neglected and damaged knee leads to pain, stiffness and deformities. This patient had been suffering from pheumatoid arthritis for the past eight years. She had been bedridden for the past two months and unable to attend to her daily needs. Now she walks without pain and her knee movements are gradually improving.”

It may be noted here that Sidhu hospital is catering to the needs of the Doraha town as well as the surrounding villages where people now no more feel deprived of latest medical facilities as the hospital is equipped with modern machines and is in a position to handle every kind of emergency.
