15-year-old cases hushed up?
No action taken in 'beef tallow', property cases
CHANDIGARH, Oct 15 — In what may be a sequel to the infamous missing files case in February this year, it seems the Chandigarh police has been allegedly hushing up other sensitive and sensational cases also. This time, sources say, nothing is known about two important cases that were filed in the Sector 26 police station almost 15 years ago.

SHOs told to report all cases since 1966
Chandigarh, Oct 15 — To deal with the recurrence of missing and misplaced files from various police stations, the Chandigarh police has decided to hold the Station House Officers (SHOs) concerned personally responsible for all the files in their respective police stations.

City's oldest naval officer
CHANDIGARH, Oct 15 — Rear Adm Pritam Singh Mahindroo, better known as "Peter" to his many friends, both in the Indian Navy and outside, died here last week. He was perhaps the oldest and seniormost naval officer living a retired life here. He died at Military Hospital, Chandi Mandir. He was 82 and is survived by his wife and two sons.
