DMC to impose service tax on Central govt institutions
Dehradun October 28

Thereafter, we will obtain documents related to the area of the premises from them as service tax is estimated to be 9 per cent of the total cost of the land." He said the DMC would go ahead cautiously as small negligence could lead to litigation. Mishra said the DMC would wait for the objections to be raised by the institutions in response to notice served to them. The Corporation would then satisfy their queries. After procuring the documents, service charge would be imposed on the institutions. He said they would not waste time in getting complete information about the total number of such institutions that existing in the city. Gradually, other institutions and departments would also be taken in the ambit as well. The Corporation expects to earn revenue in crores with the implementation of the provision of service tax. |
