High drama in MPG College students' council
elections
Mussoorie, September 7 The supporters of Neeraj Sajwan opposed the move and demanded the election in charge to declare the results in their favour without any recounting, which was denied by the officials. The situation turned worse when Manmohan Singh Mall, MC president, who is the chairman of the college management committee, barged into the counting centre and tried to influence the officials in favour of the NSUI Megh Singh group, stopping the counting process altogether for a while. Meanwhile, ABVP workers, agitated at the role of Manmohan Singh Mall, started opposing his entry into the college and alleged that he was trying to influence the counting officials in favour of NSUI Megh Singh group candidate. The ABVP activists also entered into a scuffle with the NSUI supporters and were dispersed by the police, which used mild force. Following this, some anti-social elements in the garb of students began throwing stones from the top near Barah Kainchi road at the police, resulting in damage to the vehicle of CO, Mussoorie, Jaya Baloni, and minor injury to some policemen and scribes present there. The police in retaliation began the lathi charge on the students, forcing the students to run helter-skelter. Considering the tense situation, the administration invoked Section 144 in the town, leading to closure of shops by the business community in haste. Two platoons of PAC were also called in to control the situation and the policemen did not spare the students at Library Bazaar, where once gain it resorted to lathi charge to disperse the students. While all this was happening, the recounting votes for the presidential post was started once again for the third time after Manmohan Singh Mall was forced out of the centre around 9 pm. Both the candidates were tied with 329 votes. The Principal, Sudhir Gairola, announcing a tie between the two candidates for the post of president, directed the closure of the college till Tuesday. It is to be noted that the police force led by the Dehradun SSP, Kewal Khuranna, broke into the ABVP office in Karanpur on Friday and directed the students to evacuate the office, that made students furious and they allegedly pelted stones on the police team. Dehradun, September 7 According to the police, prima facie, the case looks to be a clear case of cold-blooded murder but the reasons are still not clear. According to the police, Jaiprakash Sharma went to his clinic in the morning, leaving his wife alone at home. duplicate key. He was shocked after entering the house when he found his wife inside the storeroom in an unconscious state. Her throat was slit by a sharp weapon, claims
the police. According to police sources, the murder does not seem to be the result of robbery as the almirah's safe boxes were not broken into and articles and money were not touched. Notably, the senior citizen couple used to reside alone in their house, as one of their children lives abroad and another one in Chandigarh. A police forensic team was called. Fingerprints were taken for investigation purpose. SSP Kewal Khuranna, along with SP, City, reached the house for investigations. According to the sources, Jaiprakash Sharma is said to be a relative of a senior IPS officer of the state.
