1 more held for Yudhbir’s murder
Dehradun, August 27 After evading arrest for a fortnight, Chaudhary was arrested yesterday. According to SSP Kewal Khruanna, “Umesh is a history-sheeter and he entered the world of crime when he was just 16-year-old. He killed one person by his country-made pistol and also strangulated his former girl friend’s mother and grandmother at his village.” “During interrogation, Umesh has told us that he reached Dehradun on August 1 on the request of Hari Om for some property matter and was made to stay in a hotel at Tyagi Road, where he was introduced to Sudha Patwal, who allured them of Rs 5 lakh for killing Yudhbir and Umesh took Rs 50,000 in advance,”claimed SSP. However, Sanjeev, a resident of Haridwar, who was reportedly present along with Hari Om, Umesh Chaudhary and Sudha Patwal during the killing of Yudhbir is still absconding. The police has already arrested Sudha Patwal and Hari Om in the case from Dehradun and Meerut respectively. Yudhbir was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Rajpur Road on August 9. Later, the police claimed that Yudhbir was murdered at the behest of Sudha Patwal, who owed him money that she had taken for arranging admission to MBBS in a reputed medical college in Dehradun. |
Janmashtami has astrological significance this time
Haridwar, August 27 “The same celestial combination will be observed at midnight tomorrow when devotees celebrate Krishna Janmashtmi in the entire country,” said Semwal. He adds, according to the Sindhu scripture, when Ashtami coincides with Rohini Nakshatra at midnight, it is equivalent to the exact birth time of Lord Krishna. Such celestial positioning of stars will be seen on Krishan Janmashtami after 19 years. Hence, meditation, observance of fast, listening to discourses and recitation of shlokas of Bhagwad Gita have immense importance this time, he says. Another astrology scholar Deepti Shri Kunj of Gurukul Kangri University says those who will perform rituals or observe fast tomorrow will get fruits equivalent to several Ekadasi fasts or yajnas. Offering of curd and misri candies is also deemed beneficial while observing fast on Janmashtami. She adds both Vaishnava and Smarth sects will celebrate Krishan Janmashtami tomorrow.
