In breaking the 16-year drought for a “golden finish” that saw the Indian men’s hockey squad strike gold by defeating Pakistan in the ongoing Asian Games at Incheon, the Chandigarh Hockey Academy (CHA) had its valuable contribution.

Cleanliness drive kicks off at CAT

In compliance with the orders of the Principal Bench, CAT, New Delhi, as well as orders of the Government of India, a Swachhta Shapath was taken by the officers and staff members of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench at 11 am today.

Punjab Police pip South Central Railway
Chandigarh, October 2
The hockey team of Punjab Police drubbed South Central Railway, in tie breaker, during a match of 44th SN Vohra’s All-India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament, being played here today. Opening the team’s account, Mandeep Singh from Punjab Police scored a goal in the 9th minute. However, after seven minutes, Jaswinder leveled the score for South Central Railways. With both team’s locking at 1-1, former Indian hockey player Rajpal put the police team ahead in the 19th minute. But again the joy was cut short by Mayank of railways, in the 27th minute, when he put the score at 2-2.Thereafter, Salwinder (43rd minute) for police and Deepak (59th minute) railways scored a brace each to tie the score, Later in the tie-breaker, Punjab police defeated South Central Railways by 6-5.
