More than 10 acres of wheat crop standing in the fields at Chaunkiman village, near
Jagraon, was gutted in a fire today. As per information, the fire broke out in a field where the crop was almost ready for harvesting. The flames spread rapidly to the nearby fields due to the fast blowing wind.

Encroachments to be removed today

With the next date of hearing in the encroachment case on May 27 and Lok Sabha elections getting over in Punjab, officials of the civic body have geared up for removing around 4,500 encroachments from across the city.

New menu for mid-day meal
