Declamation, slogan contests mark World Population Day

Jalandhar, July 11
On the occasion of World Population Day, declamation and slogan-making contests on topics “Increasing population and problems”, “Declining sex ratio in Punjab” and “Environment and pollution” were held at Government High School, Patara.

A population awareness rally was also held. School headmaster Sanjiwal Singh Dadwal spread awareness on various issues.

Students Gautam, Harman, Gagan Baddhan, Bal Krishan, Harjit Baddhan and Kulwinder won various contests.

Teachers in schools apprised students about the perils of an increasing population and discussed solutions with students in this regard.

The exercises carried across the city were done on special orders of the DGSE.
