Bhai Ka Kera (Muktsar), April 21 Addressing the public on the last day of his thanksgiving tour in the Lambi assembly constituency, Badal said, “After May, there would be no transfers of government officials, except for some special cases. In future too, all officials would be transferred in the months of April and May, which would help the officials to complete their work within the time frame.” Speaking on another issue, he said there would be no difference between his own constituency, Lambi, and other constituencies in the state when it came to carrying out development works. “I plan for the development of the entire state and not only about my own constituency Lambi,” said Badal. He further informed that under a scheme of the World Bank to construct new waterworks to supply potable water to every house, the state government has decided that in the villages falling in water-logged, kandi or border areas of the state besides those villages having more than 40 per cent schedule caste population, the families belonging to general category would contribute `400 whereas those belonging to the SC community would contribute `200 only. Badal also pointed out that the installation of reverse osmosis (RO) systems along with the waterworks in all the villages would be completed by 2014. Speaking about the health-related issues, Badal said the teams of health department would conduct village-level surveys and according to the report submitted by the officials, the state government would provide the best possible assistance to the patients. Officials nap during CM’s public meeting
Bhai Ka Kera (Muktsar), April 21 During his thanksgiving tour of Lambi constituency today, some officials accompanying him were spotted taking a nap that too when the elderly CM was speaking high about some administrative reforms scheduled to be unrolled within a couple of days. After covering six villages since morning, when the CM began addressing the public in this village at about 12 noon, some officials sitting on the CM’s left side were found enjoying siesta. The CM continued his speech without paying attention to the sleeping officials. However, the persons sitting next to the officials took a notice of their gesture pertaining to dereliction of duty. On seeing that their pictures were being taken, which could invite trouble for them, their colleagues hurriedly alerted them. When asked for his reaction towards the callous approach of the officials towards his public address, Badal said, “They must remain alert as we visit public with the sole aim to serve them in a better way. If I can meet people throughout the day, the officials too must be sincere towards their duty.” Meanwhile, an erring official pleaded TNS not to publish his photo caught taking a nap fearing that it may land him in some problem. A few officials, while reasoning their “careless” colleagues’ act, said, “To follow the hectic schedule of the energetic chief minister for a full day is not easy. The CM’s public life starts early in the morning and ends late in the evening without any break.” |
