The Municipal Corporation today sealed six guest houses in villages falling within UT. While the team led by the Additional Municipal Commissioner, Mr O.P Popli, sealed five ‘‘illegally running’’ guest houses in Attawa, one guest house was sealed in Badheri village.

No further exemption

Shovana’s performance enthrals audience

Chandigarh, February 11 The solemnity and splendour of Kathak was brought alive at the Kalagram complex by danseuse Shovana Narayan. The dance recital was organised by the Rotary Inner Wheel District 308 on the eve of their conference ‘Karm Path’. Shovana started the programme with an ‘Uthaan’ and ‘Vandana’ in laudation of Lord Krishna. She then went on to perform the fundamental syllables of Kathak. She explained that every dance form has its own aura but Kathak has been endowed with the dominant ‘abhinya’ form which she demonstrated through a ‘Gat–bhava’ presentation of an episode of ‘Kalia daman’ from the epic Mahabharata.
