Admn asks depts to prepare action plan

The UT Administration has directed all its departments to prepare an action plan to implement the recommendations of the sub-groups constituted by the Administrator’s advisory council to address important issues. The issues included building by-laws, clearance of slums, garbage disposal, amendments in the Municipal Act and development of villages.

Tough yet feminine

Very tough but yet feminine. This describes Harjit Kaur, a Sub-Inspector in the Chandigarh police, who is the first woman cop of the region selected for a UN-mission in Kosovo last year to curb insurgency.
She very easily cleared the test conducted for the selection of this mission. In all, 118 persons chosen from all over India, were in her group. Meeting people from other countries in Kosovo gave her the varied taste of togetherness.
