Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Nurpur and Sujanpurtira 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund 5, Banihal 4, Batote and Srinagar 2 each and Jammu 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell largely in west Uttar Pradesh, fell appreciably in Haryana and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 8.7°C recorded at Pilani (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 7: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in south Rajasthan. Isolated hailstorm is likely in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 7: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundry development/light rain in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 40°C and 15°C respectively.
