BSP threatens to block highway

After the Nathpal issue was raised in the Rajya Sabha by BSP MP Avtar Singh Karimpuri on Tuesday, party activists carried out a protest march in the city today.

BSP activists led by state coordinator Parkash Bharti, state general secretaries Baldev Khera, Sukhwinder Kotli and its district general secretary Kamaldev Jandusigha gathered at Nakodar Chowk from where they reached the District Administrative Complex.

On their way, they blocked traffic at BMC Chowk for some time. After reaching the DAC, they submitted a memorandum to ADC Parneet Bhardwaj for Punjab Governor.

The BSP leaders also threatened to block traffic at Rama Mandi on the New Delhi-Amritsar national highway on Sunday for free and fair inquiry into mysterious death of Vicky at Dhilwan village on August 16.

Earlier raising the issue of Nathpal in Rajya Sabha on September 3, BSP MP Avtar Singh Karimpuri said Nathpal's nephew Vijay Kumar Dhilwan had been allegedly murdered by ruling Akali councillor Balbir Singh Bittu during post-Vienna protests in Jalandhar in 2009.

Karimpuri said Nathpal is the main witness in Vijay murder case and has also been pursuing the case for last four years.
