Shagun scheme payments made online

The district has taken another step towards e-governance by making payments to the Shagun scheme beneficiaries online.

The District Welfare Department has made payments amounting to Rs 7,03,95,000 directly into the bank accounts of 4,693 beneficiaries. Giving details, Deputy Commissioner, Tanu Kashyap said to ensure hassle-free delivery of public utility services, the district welfare department, had made on -line payments amounting to Rs 213.6 lakh to 1,424 beneficiaries in 2012-13 and Rs 32.55 lakh had been transferred into the accounts of 217 beneficiaries during the current financial year.

He further said as per the latest instructions of the state government, all those beneficiaries who could not get the amount of Shagun transferred into their bank accounts directly due to some technical reasons, would be paid through bank drafts shortly.
