Scholarship awarded to students Nawanshahr, September 3 DC Tanu Kashyap said under the recently launched scholarship scheme, all those students of government schools, who had secured above 80 percent marks in Class 10th examination conducted by Punjab School Education Board, will be awarded scholarship. The students identified for the scholarship would be provided a sum of Rs 2500 per month. For this purpose, bank accounts of all the students, IFSC codes of bank branches and UID numbers had been sent to state government for making online payments directly into the accounts, she further said. |

One booked for forgery Nawanshahr, September 3 The case was registered on the basis of the complaint lodged with the SSP by the office of the Deputy Commissioner accusing the Red Cross Society clerk of embezzlement of funds of Tara Singh Kahma Memorial School for Special children, Computer Centre and Medicine Store run by the District Red Cross Society. The SSP Dhanpreet Kaur has asked DSP, Sarbjit Singh to conduct investigation. A case under Sections 409 of the IPC has been registered. The police has started investigation into the case. |
