Raj Thackeray quits all Shiv Sena posts
Says no plan to join another party
Mumbai, November 27
Mr Bal Thackeray’s nephew Raj Thackeray today plunged the Shiv Sena into deeper crisis after he announced his resignation from all posts in the party. Speaking to reporters outside his residence, Mr Raj Thackeray reiterated that he would continue to be an ordinary member of the party and had no plans to join another.

Madhya Pradesh BJP Legislature Party will meet in Bhopal tomorrow to formally elect State Party President Shivraj Singh Chauhan as its leader, paving the way for him to become the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister.

Patil assures funds for flood-hit Tamil Nadu

Even while a team of Union ministers conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Tamil Nadu and assured funds for relief and rescue operations, the situation continues to be grim as more than one lakh villages are still submerged.

Crowds greet palki on way to Nankana Sahib

The historical procession, believed to be the first of its kind since the Partition, carrying a golden palki (palanquin) from India to Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, crossed its way through Haryana today.

A bomb scare disrupted the rail traffic for almost one-and-a-half-hour today at the busy New Delhi-Amritsar twin tracks when a key man of the Railways reported a bomb-like thing lying on the tracks just after the Railway overbridge here.

Fresh snowfall in Himachal areas
Chandigarh, November 27
The higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti and Chamba districts in Himachal Pradesh received another spell of snow for the second successive day today, bringing a sharp drop in the day and night temperatures in the hill state.
