Leak of information
New Delhi, October 28
Indicating that the leak of information from the Navy’s war room earlier in the year was of serious nature, the Navy, in an unprecedented action, today dismissed from service three officers who were found guilty of leaking classified information for commercial interests.

Depression hits AP coast; 15 dead

At least 15 persons died in coastal Andhra Pradesh which was lashed by torrential rains triggered by a depression over the Bay of Bengal that moved past Ongole coast this afternoon after hitting neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

Blast kills 4 in Godhra
Godhra, October 28
Four persons were killed and at least 12 injured in an explosion in the Polan Bazar area here tonight. 
The police said the explosion possibly took place in a tea vendor kiosk where a large number of people had gathered at around 9.30 pm. Eight of the injured were shifted to Baroda for treatment. — UNI

Bhandari sworn in as SC judge
New Delhi, October 28
Bombay High Court Chief Justice Dalveer Bhandari was sworn-in as a new judge of the Supreme Court today. Chief Justice of India R.C. Lahoti administered the oath of office to him in a simple ceremony in the apex court today, attended by all its judges, law officers of the Union Government, senior advocates and others lawyers.
