Turmoil in Parliament over PSUs, Judeo issue
New Delhi, December 3
The day two of the winter session of Parliament was marked by pandemonium as members in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha forced an adjournment in both Houses by vociferously raising the issues of killings of Biharis in Assam and the alleged seeking of favours from PSUs by some ministers, and the Judeo bribery scandal.

Vajpayee to make statement in LS on
Judeo episode

The government today acceded to the Opposition’s demand that Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should make a statement on the Judeo episode in the Lok Sabha. However, as the PM will be abroad over the next few days, he will make the statement only next week.

Counting of votes today
New Delhi, December 3
The fate of over 5,000 candidates who contested in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Delhi on December 1 will be decided tomorrow when the counting of votes will be taken up.

Ropar, December 3
Arguments on the bail applications of Mr Parkash Singh Badal and his MP son Sukhbir Badal remained inconclusive today.
After hearing their counsel for three hours on jurisdiction and absence of sanction, besides other issues, a court here fixed December 5 the next date for hearing the case.

Dhindsa meets PM on Badal issue
New Delhi, December 3
Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa The Union Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal general secretary, Mr Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, today met the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and apprised him of the “harassment” meted out to SAD president Parkash Singh Badal and his son and Rajya Sabha MP Sukhbir Singh Badal in Ropar jail.

India proposes coast guard links with Pak

On the eve of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s departure to Nigeria for the CHOGM summit, India today announced another confidence building measure vis a vis Pakistan by proposing the establishment of communication links between the Indian Coast Guard and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.

Russia has said the price negotiations for the sale of Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier to India have not been finally settled even as Indian Navy Chief Madhvendra Singh said yesterday that the price negotiations had been completed.


BSF returns 2 Pak boys
Jammu, December 3
It was a happy reunion for the two Pakistani brothers with their family this morning when the BSF handed them over to the Pak Rangers. They had accidentally crossed into the Indian territory in the Karotana village in the Ranbirsinghpura sector on last Monday. The brothers were identified as Sikandar Ali (18) and Bashir Ahmed (16).
