BSF returns 2 Pak boys
Tribune News Service

Jammu, December 3
It was a happy reunion for the two Pakistani brothers with their family this morning when the BSF handed them over to the Pak Rangers. They had accidentally crossed into the Indian territory in the Karotana village in the Ranbirsinghpura sector on last Monday.

The brothers were identified as Sikandar Ali (18) and Bashir Ahmed (16).

These boys had crossed the International Border while playing in the fields. They were taken into custody by the BSF. However, the Pak Rangers sought a flag meeting with the BSF yesterday and clarified that the boys were innocent and should not be handed over to the police for action under the Foreigners Act. The BSF accepted their plea and returned the boys this morning after keeping them here for two days.

The residents of the Murad Ali village in the Sialkot district of Pakistan had approached the Rangers and informed them about the crossing over of the two boys.

Normally it takes five to six years for the release of those who cross the border.

The BSF had recently returned a 70-year-old villager to the Rangers in the Akhnoor sector where he had strayed while grazing his cattle.
