New Delhi, August 13 According to sources, the entire force of the Delhi Police will be on duty on 15th August. Leave of the personnel and officers has been cancelled. All the borders will be sealed from midnight tomorrow. No vehicle from the borders of Uttar Pardesh and Haryana will be allowed to enter the city. Security personnel will be deployed at railway stations, ISBTs, airport, important markets and buildings. Security guards will be deployed on rooftops of all the buildings in Lutyens' Delhi and those from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg to Red Fort. Personnel armed with light machine guns will be deployed on all the road crossings. CCTV cameras have already been installed on the route from the Prime Minister House to Red Fort where the government has made arrangements for 10,000 visitors to listen to the Prime Minister's speech and witness the Independence Day celebrations, the sources said. Besides, the police have made traffic arrangements to facilitate the movement of VIP vehicles, invitees and general public. Those vehicles which do not have parking labels for the rehearsal should avoid Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, Subhash Marg, J.L. City to have fourth ISBT at Dwarka
New Delhi, August 13 The Transport Department has started looking for an architect to draw up the design of the project. Aimed at reducing the excess traffic load on internal roads of the city caused by the heavy movement of buses coming from the nearby states like Rajasthan and Haryana, the construction work of the ISBT will be taken up by the Transport Department, said a senior Delhi government official. The ISBT will cater to the movement of more than 400 buses plying every day between the national Capital and nearby cities like Alwar, Jaipur and Gurgaon. These buses at present originate from ISBT, Kashmere Gate. It will be built opposite the Dwarka Sector-21 Metro station that will be connected to the bus terminal. "The buses coming from Haryana and Rajasthan will be directed to this new ISBT at the Delhi border itself. This will lead to great relief on the main internal roads of the city," he said. The ISBT will have modern facilities like multi-level car park. The other three ISBTs are located at Kashmere Gate, Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar. While the one at Kashmere Gate was recently renovated, the department is expected to take up similar renovation work at the terminals in Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar. "We hope to start work in Sarai Kale Khan soon. An amendment was required in the Master Plan-2021, which is now awaiting clearance from the Ministry of Urban Development. For the Anand Vihar terminal, we will need to rework the plan," he said. |
