Law Dept opinion gathers dust
Chandigarh, July 23
Despite the UT Legal Department’s opinion that the retrospective application of the Chandigarh Estate Rules-2007 (with amendments in 2009), that allow the sealing of a building or imposing of a heavy penalty of Rs 500 per square yard, per month, for misuse and building violations, as illegal and arbitrary decision, the Chandigarh Administration has not issued fresh notification in this regard.
Beware of frauds, says immigration adviser

Asserting that immigration frauds have take the tricity in their net, a New Zealand-based immigration adviser has written to the UT police to keep a check on such fraudsters which are spreading their network in the city with gullible people being taken for a ride.

UT new secretariat building gets administrative approval

Almost seven years after a former Adviser to the UT Administrator, Lalit Sharma, laid the foundation stone of the new secretariat building for UT offices in Sector 9, the UT’s Standing Finance Committee has now given its administrative approval for the project.
