Delhi pollS
Justice Party to field 17 candidates
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, September 18
The Indian Justice Party (IJP) today announced a list of candidates for the 17 constituencies from where it would contest election. It has also declared the name of candidates in 12 constituencies. Party president Dr Udit Raj said that so far the party has decided to field candidates in 17 constituencies to contest the assembly election in Delhi. The names of the candidates in five constituencies - Burari, Vikaspuri, Palam, Rohini and Krishna Nagar - have not been decided so far.

He said that Jitender Bansal would contest from Karawal Nagar, Ravinder Singh - Mustafabad, Ashok Kumar - Gokalpur, Vijay Kumar - Ghonda, Mukesh Kumar - Seemapuri, Shyam Dubey - Kirari, Rajender Singh - Bawana, Prem Sagar Bhola - Jangpura, Deepak Taneja - Moti Nagar, Mohammad Qasim - Delhi Cantonment, Hukam Singh Kataria - Gandhi Nagar and Ashok Khari from Wazirpur.

Addressing the conference, Dr Raj said that besides corruption and inflation, he would make social justice an election issue. Discrimination is still being done with the people on the basis of caste.

He said that the party would fight for inclusive growth and development. Based on various facts and surveys, it is established that the participation of Dalits is dismal in trade and power gallery. Delhi being the national Capital, it should have inclusive growth but it is far behind as compared to even the poor states like Bihar and UP. Backward Castes too have scant share in governance. Besides, 30 per cent population of the Capital is from Bihar and UP and most of them live in abject poverty. These issues would be raised in the election, he said.
