5 houses in Nada washed away

Five houses in Nada village were washed away following flash floods in a seasonal rivulet flowing through the village due to continuous rain for the past two days. The administration has sounded a flash flood alarm, stating that the entire village is under a threat.

Few takers for superfast express

Even a week after the Chandigarh-Amritsar Superfast Express that started in place of Duronto has failed to attract crowd. Seats of all coaches, be it general or AC, were generally seen empty.

Sharp rise in vegetable prices

Though prices of a majority of green vegetables remained static last week, prices of capsicum, cauliflower and bitter gourd registered a sharp increase. The prices of capsicum in the Sector 26 retail vegetable market remained hovering around Rs 45 per kg this week as compared to Rs 30 per kg last week.

Pvt functions: Dept to seek affidavit for serving liquor
