Nine booked for abducting woman
Hoshiarpur, August 12
The Mehtiana police has booked nine persons for abducting Sandeep Kaur of Khanura. Harwinder Masih, Rajinder Masih, Nikka, Yunas Masih, Deesho, Manju, Shindo, (all of Khanura), Kaddi of Jalandhar and Raji of Kala Mangian have been booked under Sections 363, 366 and 120 of the IPC.

Woman hit by motorcycle, dies
Phagwara, August 12
Gurmit Kaur, a widow of Takhar village near Goraya, was killed on the spot when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle near Khajurala on the national highway last evening.

One killed in road accident
Pathankot, August 12
One person was killed and another injured when a bus hit the motorcycle they were riding on near bridge number 4, about 11 km from here, on the Pathankot-Jammu road today.

Nine booked for abducting woman

The Mehtiana police has booked nine persons for abducting Sandeep Kaur of Khanura. Harwinder Masih, Rajinder Masih, Nikka, Yunas Masih, Deesho, Manju, Shindo, (all of Khanura), Kaddi of Jalandhar and Raji of Kala Mangian have been booked under Sections 363, 366 and 120 of the IPC.

Sandeep’s mother Balbir Kaur alleged that her daughter went to the house of pastor Nunas Masih to offer prayer. When she did not return, Balbir Kaur went to Masih’s house and inquired about Sandeep Kaur. But they told her that Sandeep did not come to their house. Balbir Kaur suspected that the aforesaid accused might have abducted her daughter, police sources said.

In another incident, the Mehtiana police has booked Vicky, Jagtar Singh and Happy of Mukhliana under Sections 354, 506 and 34 of the IPC for teasing a girl of their village. The girl, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Rajpur Bhaiana, was returning to her house from school. On the way, the youths allegedly teased her.

In a different case, the Mehtiana police booked Rano of Mandialan and her some unknown accomplices under Section 292 of the IPC and Sections 66 A and 67 of the IT Act.

Woman hit by motorcycle, dies

Phagwara, August 12
Gurmit Kaur, a widow of Takhar village near Goraya, was killed on the spot when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle near Khajurala on the national highway last evening.

Both motorcyclists were foreign youths, Hirba Christian and Conkindi Zenbiz, residents of South Africa. They sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital.

The police has registered a case. The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Pathankot, August 12
One person was killed and another injured when a bus hit the motorcycle they were riding on near bridge number 4, about 11 km from here, on the Pathankot-Jammu road today.

According to the police, Tilak Raj (25), a resident of Mohalla Ghumara, Sujanpur, and Krishan Kumar were coming on a motorcycle to Pathankot from Sujanpur. As they reached near the bridge a bus coming from behind hit the motorcycle, resulting in the death of Tilak Raj. Krishan Kumar sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital.

A case has been registered.
