ASI attacked, three booked

Tarn Taran, May 9
ASI Lakhwinder Kaur, in charge of women cell of the district police was attacked when she was on duty yesterday here.

Kulwinder Kaur of Chhajalwaddi village and her sister Baljinder Kaur of Kad Gill village and their father Ajit Singh have been booked under Sections 186, 332, 353 and 34 of the IPC for attacking Lakhwinder Kaur.

The accused had come to the women cell regarding some complaint lodged by Bakhtaur Singh, former husband of Kulwinder Kaur.

There both the sisters started a verbal duel with Bakhtaur Singh. When the ASI tried to intervene, the accused manhandled her and torn her uniform.

The accused have been taken into custody by the police.
