Accident victim cremated
Nawanshahr, March 18
Finally, Dayanand Singh, who died in Italy in June last year, was cremated at his native village Chak Ramu here on Saturday.

Justice M Jayapaul of the Punjab and Haryana High Court laid the foundation stone of the new judicial complex here on Saturday. 

3 booked for assaulting ASI
Batala, March 18
The police has registered a case against two brothers and sister for assaulting an ASI. ASI Hardeep Singh of Vigilance staff, Gurdaspur, had gone to Nangal village to arrest Harpinder Singh in a case under Section 182 IPC pending before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gurdaspur.

Accident victim cremated

Nawanshahr, March 18
Finally, Dayanand Singh, who died in Italy in June last year, was cremated at his native village Chak Ramu here on Saturday. Dayanand lived in Italy since 2004 and met with an accident in May last year and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Italy on June 2 last year.

Since then, his mother Harbhajan Kaur and the family have been waiting for the body to perform the last rites. — OC

Foundation stone of new judicial complex laid

Batala, March 18
Justice M Jayapaul of the Punjab and Haryana High Court laid the foundation stone of the new judicial complex here on Saturday. As many as 111 new chambers will be constructed in the new complex to be built at a cost of Rs 3.25 crore. Out of this amount Rs 2.75 crore will be collected by advocates themselves while Rs 50 lakh will be given by the state government. — TNS

3 booked for assaulting ASI

Batala, March 18
The police has registered a case against two brothers and sister for assaulting an ASI. ASI Hardeep Singh of Vigilance staff, Gurdaspur, had gone to Nangal village to arrest Harpinder Singh in a case under Section 182 IPC pending before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gurdaspur.

But the ASI was assualted by Harpinder, his brother Jaspinder Singh and sister Gurwinder Kaur at their residence. Harpinder Singh also managed to escape. The police has registered a case under sections 186, 353, 223, 224, 509 and 34 of the IPC. — OC
