Woman tries to kill herself 

Jalandhar, February 6
High drama was witnessed today on a road near Doordarshan Kendra when a woman attempted to kill herself under moving vehicles. 

Traffic came to a halt when the woman, a resident of Gurunanak Pura West, lay on the road. The passers-by forcibly took her off the road.

After reporting the matter to the police, passers-by also called the emergency ambulance service (108), which later rushed her to the Civil Hospital.

The woman was accusing her husband and his family for harassing her.

Meanwhile, her husband told the police that his wife was mentally upset and this evening, she had gone to buy medicines.—OC
