Navdeep’s sister Navjot Kaur said: “It was a proud moment for the family when it received a telegram about the award…. You can kill a mocking bird. But you cannot kill its spirit. In Greek mythology, they call the bird The Phoenix. In Gurdaspur, they call it Lt Navdeep Singh.”
