Chowk. The driver, Sita Singh, was taking Rupinder Singh, a resident of

Son of former Home Guard Comdt held

The son of Jabarjang Singh, a retired Commandant of Punjab Home Guards, has been arrested on charges of snatching a car from a city resident. The accused, identified as 21-year-old Indervir Singh Romal, a resident of Vikas Nagar, is a student of BA-II at a local college.
Girls bag top three slots in district in pseb class X exams

Once again female students bagged the first three positions in the district in the class 10 examinations conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Two city girls, Muskaan and Amrit Kaur of Teja Singh Swatantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Simlapuri ranked first and second, scoring 95 per cent and 94.62 per cent marks, respectively.

Two killed in accident

Two persons were killed and three others injured seriously when the car they were travelling in collided head on with a truck carrying cement bags near Pandori village on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur highway this morning.
Body of 40-yr-old man found

The Ludhiana (rural) police recovered the body of a middle-aged man from Atam Nagar locality in Jagraon this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar (40), a resident of Jagraon. The police also found a scooter (PB-25-2186) parked near the body.
