Haryana govt employee held for rape

A former private assistant of the Haryana election commissioner who was later transferred to the state irrigation department was arrested last night on charges of raping a woman in Maloya village. The police also apprehended his colleague for allegedly abetting the crime.

PU declares CET results

Results of the CET-2010 conducted by Panjab University on May 23 have been declared today. The courses for which the results have been declared included MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS, BALLB (honours) five-year integrated course, BSc (tourism management), BSc (hospitality and hotel administration), BPharma and BSc (Honours School).

Robbers decamp with cash, jewellery

Panic gripped Model Town in Ambala City, after armed robbers entered the house of a senior executive of a pharmaceutical company and made away with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, cash and mobile phones.

2 held for smuggling liquor
Rajpura, June 1
The police today arrested two persons with 700 boxes of liquor being smuggled to Haryana from Chandigarh.
The accused have been identified as Arik Masih and Madan Lal, both residents of Sirsa. They admitted smuggling liquor from Chandigarh to Haryana where liquor was to be distributed among voters during the panchayat elections in Haryana.
